Belmont Veterans Memorial Dedication

Saturday, November 2, 2019, 11:00AM

The Belmont Veterans Memorial Committee would like to invite you to the dedication of the newly restored and expanded Belmont Veterans Memorial.

Four years ago, a small group of people got together to discuss the various Veteran’s Memorial sites in Belmont. They agreed that there was a need for a site that honored Belmont veterans from all conflicts. The group focused on a neglected memorial at the Clay Pit Pond as the ideal site to restore and expand.

This group dedicated themselves to accomplishing this task and are proud that the memorial is now completed.

This Memorial honors the service of all veterans—past, present and future and the sacrifice of the 128 Belmont servicemen who gave their lives in defense of our nation.  It is a place for reflection and remembrance. A place for future generations to reflect on the service of their friends and relatives in defending our country.

The program will begin at 10:15 AM at the World War I Memorial at the intersection of Concord Avenue and Common Street. A short parade to the Memorial site will be followed by the dedication at 11:00 AM at the Belmont Veterans Memorial Park located at Concord Avenue & Underwood Street.

We are hopeful that you can join us for the dedication on November 2, 2019, for sacrifice is meaningless without remembrance.

Sincerely,
The Belmont Veterans Memorial Committee
